After the launch of our campaign, many people have supported the idea. We think it is a 'no-brainer': a strong women's sector benefits individual women, their families, their communities, and society at large. An ethical endowment will lessen the burden on statutory funding over time giving the women's sector the financial freedom to plan ahead, scale up their services, and dedicate more time to social justice work.

I am writing to you about an issue that matters a lot to me.

Women are facing devastating violence, abuse, poor health services, inequality and economic barriers. Research shows that it is possible to support women - but only with stable and sustainable funding for the specialist women's organisations that support them.

I am asking you to support The Women's Forever Fund. (www.womensforeverfund.org.uk) This is a long-term ethical investment fund intended to provide sustainable funding for women and girls’ organisations.

Despite growing demand, women's organisations receive a tiny proportion of funds. In 2021, they received just 1.8% of all charitable grants. Women’s organisations carry out vital preventative and community-based work, yet they remain chronically underfunded.

As decisions are made about the future of the Dormant Assets scheme, I would like to see women and girls recognised as a discrete beneficiary through The Women's Forever Fund.

I would be grateful if you could let me know your views on this and raise it with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon Rachel Reeves MP.

How we use the data you enter on this form

Do Gooder (the advocacy platform powering this online action) processes personal information from you that you enter on this form so that we can provide the functions and related services to you and The Campaigner (the organisation responsible for this online action) for their legitimate purposes, including possibly exporting it to other systems, and to effectively respond to enquiries and communications related to those services.
